Angus Ta'avao is a veteran prop with a wealth of experience, known for his power in the scrum, physicality around the park, and ability to cover both sides of the front row.
He made his Super Rugby debut for the Blues in 2012 and went on to represent the All Blacks from 2018 to 2022, earning 23 caps. After stints with the Waratahs and the Chiefs, he returned to the Blues again before making the move south.
At the end of 2025, Angus signed with the Highlanders for the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season, bringing a depth of front-row leadership and experience to the squad.
Heading into 2026, Ta'avao will be looking to use his experience to bolster the Highlanders’ pack, mentor younger forwards, and help the team elevate its forwards’ performance.
