The Highlanders have announced the signing of Angus Ta'avao for the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season, reinforcing the squad with seasoned experience.
Ta'avao, 35, is a veteran prop with over 260 professional appearances across the Blues, Chiefs, Waratahs, Taranaki and Auckland teams. A 23-cap All Black, Ta'avao can cover both sides of the scrum and his versatility, experience and leadership qualities will be welcomed by the Highlanders.
Jamie Joseph, Highlanders Head Coach, commented:
“Building depth across the park is critical for a successful campaign. Angus brings a wealth of experience to our forward pack. Throughout his career he has demonstrated resilience, and character which make him an ideal fit for our culture and ambitions. We’re excited to welcome him to Dunedin.”
Ta’avao is looking forward to the opportunity.
“I’m excited to join the Highlanders in 2026,” said Ta'avao. “ I look forward to adding my flavour, embracing the culture, and contributing to the team’s success.”
