Loose Forward
Will Stodart is a 21-year-old loose forward who is originally from Southland but plays for Otago in the NPC competition.
Stodart attended Southland Boys’ High School before moving to St Andrew’s College in Christchurch in Year 11, where he went on to captain the First XV rugby team. He moved to Otago after school, joining the Highlanders High-Performance Programme. He represented the Highlanders at the Super Rugby U20 tournament in Taupō, and was named in the New Zealand U20 in 2023.
In 2025, Stodart gained valuable experience in his first full season with the Highlanders, showcasing his work rate, physicality, and versatility as a loose forward.
In 2026, Stodart was a regular in the side, often coming off the bench with noticeable impact.
In 2027, Stodart will look to further cement his spot in the side. His performances have helped him further establish himself as a promising young player in both Super Rugby and the NPC.
