Sean Withy joined the 2022 squad after graduating from the John Jones Steel High Performance Programme. The 2021 U20 Super Rugby Player of the Tournament continues to show enormous potential and gained valuable experience in his rookie season as well as a cap against eventual Championship winners, the Crusaders. 

The young loose forward was born and bred in Southland but moved up to Dunedin to attend the University of Otago. 

2024 saw Withy develop more as a player as well as develop his leadership skills as he headed down to Captain the Southland NPC side.

Running out to debut against the Crusaders in Christchurch.
