Sean Withy joined the 2022 squad after graduating from the John Jones Steel High Performance Programme. The 2021 U20 Super Rugby Player of the Tournament continues to show enormous potential and gained valuable experience in his rookie season as well as a cap against eventual Championship winners, the Crusaders. 

The young loose forward was born and bred in Southland but moved up to Dunedin to attend the University of Otago. 

Withy put his hand up during the 2022 NPC season, clearly benefitting from a season of Super Rugby, and will be looking to carry that form and dominance over to the 2023 Super Rugby season.
