Ryan Bambry
Assistant Coach
Ryan Bambry joins the Highlanders coaching group in 2026, bringing a wealth of experience in player development and strong ties to southern rugby.
He has a long-standing connection with the club, having previously been part of the Highlanders coaching environment in 2006, and has since remained closely involved in the region’s rugby pathways.
Bambry most recently served as High Performance Development Manager with the Otago Rugby Football Union, where he led the Men’s Academy programme and helped develop emerging talent into the professional game.
He has also coached the Highlanders Under 20 side, giving him a strong understanding of the club’s systems, players, and culture.
Bambry adds valuable experience and continuity to the Highlanders coaching group.
