Josh Tengblad is a towering lock from Sacred Heart College in Auckland, known for his line‑out presence, work rate and physicality around the park.
Tengblad has come through the Highlanders’ John Jones Steel High Performance Programme and represented New Zealand U20s, earning a reputation as one of the most promising second‑rowers in the age‑grade system.
Standing over 2 metres tall, he adds strength and presence to the forward pack, with the Highlanders signing him to help develop his game in 2026 ahead of a full Super Rugby role in 2027.
