Folau impressed with his Hawkes Bay season in the 2021 Mitre 10 Cup and picked up the Duane Monkley Medal for the Most Valuable Player. He has a great intuitive feel for the game, creating the ability to spark his team on attack. Although not a big man, he really enjoys the physical parts of the game and this is evident in the way he approaches defence.
The outstanding halfback righted the wrongs of 2021 after a knee injury took him out of contention for All Blacks selection despite playing the best rugby of his career and was selected the All Blacks in 2022 off the back of another impressive Super Rugby season.
Folau has since picked up 2 caps for the All Blacks after debuting in the second test of the Steinlager Series against Ireland in July. We can't wait to see what 2023 brings for the talented halfback.
