Ayden is a big physical, competitive player with a high work rate. He joined the Highlanders from Waikato in 2019 and was a standout player in what was an experienced team.

At the end of the 2020 Super Rugby season, Ayden was selected for the North Side in the North vs South Fixture and was the 2019 Highlanders Rookie of the year. After an unfortunate 2022 season that was marred by injury and allowed only two appearances he will be looking for another big season to back up past year's efforts.
