Josh Whaanga is a dynamic 20-year-old back originally from Balclutha, South Otago. 

Josh was selected in the 2024 NZ Under 20's squad as well as captained the 2024 HIghlanders Under 20's team during the annual Super Rugby U20's Tournament in Tāupo. 

Whaanga, although only young, has proved his ability and will be a great asset to the HIghlanders squad.
