Taine Robinson was born in Collingwood, at the very top of the South Island where he attended Nelson College. 

Robinson was named in the 2021 Tasman Mako squad and debuted that same year, where they made it to the NPC final. 

The qualified builder made his Super Rugby debut for the Crusaders as injury cover in 2024 and is an exciting new signing for the Highlanders. His speed and versatility in the back line will be a great asset to the team.
