First five-eighth
Josh Jacomb brings a sharp attacking instinct and a growing reputation to the Highlanders in 2027. Equally comfortable taking on the defensive line or creating space for those around him, the Taranaki first five combines an exciting running game with composure and a reliable boot.
Raised on Auckland’s North Shore, Jacomb made his provincial debut for Taranaki in 2021 before earning his first Super Rugby appearance for the Chiefs in 2024. His breakthrough 2025 NPC campaign earned him the Duane Monkley Medal as the competition’s best player, with a memorable hat-trick and 30-point haul against Auckland among the highlights.
After representing the All Blacks XV in 2024 and 2025, Jacomb took another step in 2026, making his All Blacks debut against the Stormers during their South African tour and earning selection for the northern tour.
Having developed his game alongside Damian McKenzie at the Chiefs, Jacomb heads south ready to make his mark and bring a fresh attacking edge to the Highlanders backline.
