SBS Bank Brings Super Rugby to the South

The Highlanders are set to face off against the Western Force in Invercargill, on Friday 5th
March. This round 4 fixture for the Highlanders will be the first time a DHL Super Rugby Pacific
competition game has been played in Invercargill since 2023.

The Highlanders' major partner and front-of-jersey partner, SBS Bank, has played a key role
in bringing this exciting fixture to Invercargill. As the match day partner, SBS Bank is thrilled
to see the game take place at the home of Southland Rugby and the Stags. Additional to
bringing the game to Invercargill, SBS Bank will also shout all kids aged 12 and under free
entry to the game (with a paying adult).

SBS Bank Chief Executive Mark McLean says SBS is excited to bring a competition match to
Rugby Park in Invercargill.

“We know Southlanders look forward to the Super Rugby Pacific season and backing our
team, the Highlanders,” Mr McLean says.

“As the official bank of the Highlanders, SBS is right behind them too and we’re delighted to
bring them home to Invercargill, creating an opportunity for fans to get up close to the action
and show our special Southland support.”

Highlanders Head Coach, Jamie Joseph, is looking forward to the encounter:

“The Highlanders playing in Invercargill is always a special day for the club and I know the
team will be up for taking on the Force down there. Especially as it’s home for some of our
players and its great opportunity to get out there in front of their family and friends. It’s
important that we get out into our region when we can and support the people who support
us.”

Hua Tamariki, Southland Rugby CEO, confirmed their support for the game coming to
Invercargill:

“We always get good support for the Highlanders and the opportunity to host a Super Rugby
Pacific game doesn’t come around that often. I know the rugby fraternity will be excited by
this fixture and it will no doubt be a great occasion to welcome the team to Invercargill. Super
Rugby in our town in front of our fans, fantastic!”

With the Invercargill fixture now allocated the Round 10 Highlanders v Waratahs game has
been confirmed for Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin.

Round 4 – Highlanders v Western Force – 7:35pm, Friday 5th March 2027

Location: Rugby Park Stadium, Invercargill

Round 10 – Highlanders v NSW Waratahs – 7:05pm, Saturday 17th April 2027

Location: Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin
