Chemist Warehouse and the Highlanders throw their weight behind the Southern Charity Hospital

The Highlanders and Chemist Warehouse proudly announce this year's Chemist Warehouse Charity Round will take place on Saturday 27^th April, when the Highlanders face the Force at home in Dunedin. In 2024 this special round will be in support of the Southern Charity Hospital, continuing Chemist Warehouse’s tradition of giving back to the local community.

The Chemist Warehouse Charity Round, an initiative launched in 2022 to raise funds for community organisations, aims to make a meaningful impact to those who need it most. With the support of the Highlanders community, Chemist Warehouse shoppers and suppliers almost $69,000 has been raised for the Highlanders charity partners and this year Chemist Warehouse are aiming even higher with the goal to raise $75,000.The local charity which the spotlight shines on in 2024 is the Southern Charity Hospital, an organisation born out of a deeply personal journey and dedicated to providing equitable healthcare access in Southern New Zealand.

Melissa Vining, Southern Charity Hospital Founder, commented, "The Southern Charity Hospital is thrilled to have been selected as the charity of choice. There is such a special link between the Highlanders and the Charity Hospital – both existing to service both Southland and Otago.” 

Melissa reflects, ”On a personal note, one of my fondest memories is Blair, Della-May and Lilly running the ball onto the field at a Highlanders game at rugby park. The girls and I are excited to be coming to the game and will be cheering loudly for the Highlanders.”

Highlanders fans are encouraged to get involved by bidding on auction items, donating when purchasing a ticket, or contributing at the game itself. In addition to the game, there will be an exciting opportunity for one lucky member of the audience to contribute to the donations pot during the Chemist Warehouse halftime activation.
