Highlanders Aim to Deliver!
The Pulse Energy Highlanders have joined with Age Concern Otago in announcing an alignment with Meals on Wheels.
Team members will volunteer as drivers to deliver meals to the more senior members of our community. Age Concern are hoping to significantly increase the number of volunteer drivers to continue to service the need that exists within the community.
Fiona McMillan of Age Concern Otago is excited to have the Highlanders come on board “meals on wheels volunteers add immeasurable value to Dunedin and the community, meal recipients will now have the added surprise of having a Highlander team member come to their door with lunch”.
Amelia Kininmonth Highlanders General Manager – Commercial and Marketing said “it is important for us to be contributing to the community within which we live and work, we hope by joining forces with meals on wheels we can encourage others to get involved with this vital community service. Meal recipients should look out for a side stepping Ben Smith, or a fast moving Waisake Naholo coming up their pathway with their next lunch”.
Meals on wheels is one of four community alignments the Highlanders are involved with this year along with Wildlife Hospital, Otago Rescue Helicopter and the Literacy in schools programme.
If anyone is interested in joining meals on wheels they should contact Age Concern Dunedin.
