Elliot Dixon is a senior player in the Highlanders and had an outstanding season in 2016, after joining the team as a rockie in 2011. He was rewarded in 2016 with an All Blacks cap. Off the back of his impressive 2012 Super Rugby season, Dixon was selected for the 2012 Maori All Blacks' tour of Europe and has backed that up with subsequent selection in the team in both 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. The Christchurch-born loose forward was also a member of the New Zealand U20 side that won the Junior World Championship in Tokyo in 2009. Dixon has played strongly for the Highlanders at numbers 8 and 6 and has shown his versatility for the team by playing on the openside as well after a strong 2016 Dixon was selected for the All Blacks to play Wales in June 2016 and made three appeareances for the national side during test matches last year.
