The Stormers represent the traditionally powerful South African provincial union, Western Province, who are based at the foot of the picturesque Table Mountain in Cape Town. In recent seasons, the Stormers have reverted to a predominantly blue strip, which is more in keeping with the blue and white hoops traditionally worn by Western Province. The side previously appeared in a black outfit. As well as Western Province, the Stormers also represent the two other rural South African provincial unions who are based in the Western Cape region: the South Western Districts Eagles, and the Boland Kavaliers.
