Manaaki Selby-Rickit is no stranger to high-performance athletes being the son of former All Black, Hud Rickit and brother to netballers Te Paea and Te Huinga Selby-Rickit. Clocking in at 2.0m tall, the 25-year-old is a good lineout target and is considered an athletic second-rower.
Selby-Rickit spent the 2019 Mitre 10 Cup season on the side-line recovering from back surgery but returned back to full fitness at the beginning of the 2020 Super Rugby Competition.
Although he only took the field five times in 2021, he gained selection for the Māori All Blacks for their latest two-test series with Manu Samoa. Manaaki will play for the Bay of Plenty Steamers in the 2021 Bunnings NPC after moving from the Southland Stags
